The Delegate's Report on the Warringah Merger Proposal

The Delegate's report of the 20th April 2016. This was prepared cognoscente of the brief, the applicable provisions of the amended NSW Local Government Act, submissions from each of the three Councils, three four-hour evenings of public hearings and numerous public submissions.

Manly Council's Submission to the Delegate on the Warringah Merger Proposal 

Manly Council has lodged its submission to the Government on Warringah's Merger Proposal: Manly, Pittwater and Warringah councils. 

Warringah's Mega Council Proposal

Warringah Council has submitted an alternative merger proposal for one northern beaches council to the Minister for Local Government.

Public submissions on this proposal closed on 8 April 2016. The Delegate will assess the proposal in accordance with the provisions of the Act.

In a Mega Council

  • Your councillor representation will reduce to 1-in-27,000 from the present 1-in-5,000.
  • Your say on your local area will drop from 100% to 17%.
  • The 'localness' you expect will disappear.
  • Manly residents will take on Warringah’s large infrastructure backlog.
  • Warringah claims “total financial benefits” of less than 2% may result over 20 years.
